How to get inspired to cook and eat healthy everyday
Hello, Gorgeous!
Something I have been keeping a not-so-secret is I am the CEO of groceries.
Homemaking has always been on the back of my mind. This was how it all started. I am not a natural and had to learn with years of experience. It was not easy, because cooking does not naturally come to me even though I did it all the time for my family growing up.
On top of that, I see a lot of wellness trends with ‘healthy’ grocery stores popping up everywhere that offer unique and premium ingredients only to drain your wallet of all your earnings.
Get that out of your mind. There are so many ways to be fabulously healthy. You don’t need to follow a difficult recipe with a list of ingredients.
I have kept my flat stomach for 8 months now.
- I am never hungry–even though I eat A LOT.
- It is easy to be bikini-ready all year round.
- I feel strong and beautiful all the time no matter what I wear.
This includes the most difficult times of the month during your cycle.
If you’re trying to be healthy and refine your cooking skills–-do this:
Find new grocery stores.
There are your standard brand name grocery stores that are huge corporate retailers local to your region. Avoid these at all costs.
- Find small mom and pop places that are holes in the wall.
- Explore other cultures through their food with foreign markets.
- Shop on the outside aisles of the grocery store. Avoid the middle aisles.
When you are bored of the same things at Costco, Ralphs or Kroger, it could really be depressing. I found myself in this slump when consolidating a strict routine. Routines are good for building structure, but variety is the spice of life.
Once, my sweetheart who is very picky asked me to make him the same dish for the thousandth time, I asked him if he likes eating the same thing everyday. I could tell it opened his eyes. He was excited to try new things and not feel monotonous.
New ingredients will energise your tastes.
The middle of the grocery store is where all the junk is. Anything packaged is off the shopping list. You will save more money at a small mom and pop Mexican market or Pakistani butcher who will bless the meat and cut it in front of you.
Food made fresh from a food truck is way better than the bags of chemicals added to preserve the food in sealed containers. These compounds mess up the natural probiotics in your stomach and it will result in pain, discomfort and/or bloating.
New ingredients you have not used before or you want to experiment with make your taste buds exhilarated. You fortify your recipes for go-tos that make everyone happy at the dining table and learn create new recipes rather than learn new ones.
All you have to do is mix up what you already know by adding a different spice, use a not-so-usual sauce, and this is actually my trick for people falling in love with my food. Especially me.
I get a lot of praise from this little trick. Sauces and curries will send your food into a Michelin rating at home.
This is better than a 5 star restaurant.

Wash your produce once you get home.
I add produce without the plastic bag and place it in my reusable grocery bag, because it is less waste and it also makes me wash it right away before sticking in the fridge for the day.
This makes meal prepping seem like less of a hassle. Preparing your food to cook is elegant when you make a routine of it. Cleaning your tools feels like putting on pretty makeup to me.
I have no idea why. It simply makes me feel like a million bucks to take the time to cut food in gorgeous ways. Learn to love it.
Water is so sexy.
Sexify your water by trying different brands or electrolytes to add to them.
This is so underrated.
Sparkling water makes you feel like you are drinking champagne. Examine which brands you prefer. Personally, I like Saratoga because it is the fizziest and has the most gas. It really packs the freshness and makes your dining experience elevated.
I also love Evian (even for my cat) as my fridge is full of it. There are cabinets filled with Evian in my home, because LA pipes water is brown, rusty, and tastes how pee pee smells.
Do not forget tea is considered water. Your kettle is your best mate when unravelling the possibilities of staying hydrated.
Alternate water bottles as well. Make everything beautiful and aesthetically pleasing in every part of your routine. It always adds a little glamour to drink water from a champagne flute or Marie Antoinette coupe.
Water never has to be boring. It also makes you fuller when you remember to drink it.
Quit your cravings by doing this.
When eating healthy, it becomes easy to quit your cravings. I have actually quit sugar because of this. It was not all in one night, but I figured out the trick.
The moment you are hungry, prepare your food and eat the most nutritious food first. Then see if you are still hungry for a craving. Usually you are not, because you got the nutrients you need.
Your blood sugar is not needing sugar for fake energy. Same how you won’t use cocaine to wake up your body. You will probably revert to caffeine and/or sunlight. The quick spikes of sugar really do make you crash.
Once you start eating whole food (anything that grows – yes, meat is grown) when you are hungry first thing, your sugar levels do not spike, but they are steady energy without a crash.

I do not even add sweet creamer to my coffee anymore. Only almond milk! I never thought this would happen until I became consistent with cooking good food properly on a frequent basis.
I used to think having something sweet wrapped up your appetite, but a lot of the time your cravings mean something else.
Common cravings and what they might mean:
Chocolate cravings
- Possible links: low magnesium might play a small role in some people
- More common reasons: stress, hormonal shifts (especially PMS), need for comfort or dopamine, fatigue
Salty foods (chips, fries, pickles)
- Possible links: dehydration or electrolyte imbalance
- More common reasons: stress, adrenal response, habit, craving stimulation/crunch
Sugar / sweets
- Possible links: low blood sugar or energy dips
- More common reasons: not eating enough protein/fiber, stress, sleep deprivation, dopamine seeking
Bread / carbs
- Possible links: low serotonin levels (carbs temporarily boost serotonin)
- More common reasons: energy depletion, restrictive dieting, emotional comfort
Cheese / dairy
- Possible links: calcium or fat cravings (very loosely supported)
- More common reasons: comfort food association, salt + fat combination reward effect
Meat / red meat
- Possible links: iron or B12 deficiency (more plausible medically)
- More common reasons: protein needs, satiety, body building/repair signals
Ice (pica craving)
- Possible link: iron deficiency (clinically noted association)
- Important: this one is worth checking with a doctor if persistent
Cravings are usually a mix of:
- Brain reward systems (dopamine)
- Hormones (stress, cycle changes)
- Energy balance
- Habits and emotional associations
So instead of “this craving = this deficiency,” it’s more accurate to think:
What state is my body or mind in right now?
A lot of the times we don’t like a certain food is because we do not like the texture or were not exposed to it in our formative years. It is time to expand your mind and taste buds!
Being healthy is elegant, easy, and doable.
Ultimately, learning how to get inspired to cook and eat healthy every day comes down to curating your environment, your ingredients, and your mindset so nourishment feels exciting instead of restrictive.
When you shop intentionally, eat whole foods first, and understand what your cravings are really communicating, healthy eating becomes a natural extension of your lifestyle—not a forced discipline.
True wellness is built through consistency, creativity, and awareness, where cooking at home becomes the easiest way to feel energized, balanced, and beautifully in control of your body.
