Redefining Personal Style In 2026: A Personal Evolution That Is Here To Stay

Hello, Gorgeous!

My style has changed so much over the years.

Phase 2: Blush LTK-Friendly Girlie Gia

The style I posted on YouTube when I first started was the overconsumption of an overwhelmed blush-coloured-everything girl who was in love with all things flirty and feminine. I loved everything glamorous until I discovered luxury.

Phase 3: Quiet Understated Luxury Classic

Luxury in terms of materials, hype of very specific pieces, and leaned into my finishing school syllabus. My now ex-husband was British and I felt like I did not fit into his world, and started considering the classic traditional style my father always pushed on me. These were timeless silhouettes with the tons of colour I am still proud of donning today.

Phase 4: Los Angeles Socialite (aka Phase 1 – which is why it’s not mentioned)

Then, there was the post-divorce Gia. I went back to my roots as a Los Angeles socialite in colourful trend-forward gowns. But I had an identity crisis as I worked an office job I hated reviving that British classic style mentioned previously. My boyfriend whom I met once I returned to LA consistently mentioned how I look ravishing in black.

I was torn at the trifurcation of who I was expected to be versus who I truly am.

Phase 5: Los Angeles Socialite Redux

Now, I am the amalgamation of all of these styles – minus the blush hued items – and have come back to my colourful dark feminine rock and roll self. When I say rock and roll, people have a tendency to think I literally mean listening to the musical genre. I simply am clarifying I mean rebellious in nature.

Luxury, but anti-luxury. I am still seeking styles that are well made with materials that suit me and my life. Adapting will do that to you. But this time, I am living life on my terms, because I am my own boss. It also really helps that I have a wonderful man in my life who loves when I express myself as I am.

As an artist, I grew up thinking I was a trendsetter.

Which I was! I was voted best dressed on several occasions (and friendliest and best smile). Ladies and gentlemen have been asking me for advice on what to wear or where I plucked certain garments from since I was 14 years old.

A girl once approached me on Halloween at school wondering why I did not dress up. It was seen as gauche and uncool to dress up at the time. She said, I would have respected if you dressed up. The truth was I had no money or time to think of a creative costume. I forgot haha.

That was the year my once strict dad let me really start dressing myself and shopping at Forever 21 and Roxy. I was given a budget and worked within it. It is a life skill I have been using till this day. Thank you, my wonderful artist Dad. He was also an inspiration too!

People copied me and I was genuinely flattered. It is the ultimate compliment and I love twinning styles holding hands. I welcome it.

My cousin and I did it. We got the same colour everything as well. My brother also did it as I wore his hand-me-downs and our parents did not want to have to think when shopping for us.

This is where my love for using what I have came from. My parents taught me how to love what I can work with so you do not have to think about your outfit.

What I would call my style now

Personal style is an evolution and I interpret it as transitioning according to lifestyle as it has been reimagined so many times over the decades. I hope to stay in this period for quite a while. I love life as it is!

The style I relate to most now is what I like to deem Old British aristocrat ex-socialite grandma on 5th Avenue with 12 dogs on 12 leads. But put her in Los Angeles. That is with a matcha in hand, car keys, and too many opinions. Kris Jenner? But more taking notes from her daughters.

My latest Inspirations

  • Jane birkin using her bags to death
  • The Olsen Twins period. I love everything about their avant-garde-ness, quality and craftsmanship.
  • Old British aristocrat ex-socialite grandma on 5th ave with 12 dogs on 12 leads
  • Dark feminine – My boyfriend labelled me this.
  • LA Kardashian girlie – I love influencer style and cannot deny the fun of mixing trends!
  • Curvy petite Audrey Hepburn on steroids if I really look back with a telescopic lens.
  • Off duty model look – Simplicity shows off who you are.

It’s weird when things look new or when people are too precious with their items. It gives guest towel energy. I like scratches that create character and history. Same how you wouldn’t polish your wedding band. You love it with the memories you create along the way.

I love an old pair of used Le Chameau boots or a Barbour coat that’s seen life. It has stories to tell. Same how I would sit next to an old woman who has been married 5 times and has seen the world. Why would I sit next to a fresh out of university virgin? They have nothing interesting to teach me.

So far, this style is here to stay but we’ll see as the years go on.

These various eras do not define me, but are small pieces of the mosaic that make us look back fondly.

There was an interview with Posh Spice stating how she is not embarrassed of her looks setting trends in her time and she dubbed them, I was learning. Something along those lines.

More precisely, I was adapting to the times and now I can relax and be myself.

When I was posting blush outfits with all items pink, I was catering to an audience of girlie girls thinking this is what a strong feminine woman in her convictions was. When I recalibrated to classic style, this was gaining insight into married life with a man whose life I did not fit.

At its core, what made me be myself as a 30 year old was coming back to Los Angeles, losing my job and finding myself. A lazy girl who loves luxury and looks for shortcuts to demonstrate this in her routine.

All styles suited me as I tried them on and they all served me well. Countless compliments were shared and they were received tremendously.

When you are finding your personal style, it’s okay to change your mind.

Not to say you should have identity crises every few years, but they really do help. Life changes and so will your style. Whichever chapter you are moving through, keep on going forward.

I found mine by clearly asking for nobody’s permission. When I tried to fit in the box was when I became the most creative – especially in my classic era.

Try new things, have fun, and enjoy the journey you have. As long as you shop from your heart, style what makes you feel gorgeous, and intentionally curate your lifestyle – you will always have beautiful original ideas. You can be all the pieces you put together.

Stay authentic, my love.
